TRIBUTE DINNER SCHEDULED FOR APRIL 20, 2022

Annual Tribute Dinner set for April 20, 2022

​WISE Women of Blair County Board of Directors has rescheduled the annual Tribute Awards Dinner to April 20, 2022.  The dinner will be held at The Casino at Lakemont at 6pm.  Reservations can be made through the WISE Women website.  

The honorees selected in 2020 will be honored at this year's Tribute.

  • Arts & Letters - Marie Little
  • Business & Professional - Jennifer Burgmeier
  • Community Service Volunteer - Donna L. Malone
  • Education - Dorey Marsh

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY ANNOUNCED FALL 2022

WISE Women of Blair County is pleased to announce that they are seeking applications for scholarship assistance for Fall 2022 semester.  One or more scholarships will be awarded up to a total of $10,000. Deadline for applications is no later than 4 pm on Friday, March 25, 2022. These completed applications must be received by email or US Postal mail to WISE Women at our address of P. O. Box 134, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648 or you may submit your application to our email address of info@wisewomenofblaircounty.org.
 
Scholarships will be available to Blair County resident females 21 years of age or older who have overcome adversity or discrimination in their lives and who are pursuing post-secondary education. The scholarship is not available for a Masters, Doctorate or a second Bachelor’s degree.
 
WISE Women of Blair County (WISE stands for Women Involved in Scholarship and Empowerment) has granted $20,000 in scholarships each year for women to continue their education.  The mission of the organization is to empower women and to eliminate racism through collaboration, service, and education.  The mission is fulfilled by providing scholarships, awarding grants, and recognizing outstanding women in our community through the annual Tribute dinner. These scholarships are awarded through the Central Pennsylvania Community Foundation (CPCF).

FALL SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS ANNOUNCED

WISE Women of Blair County is pleased to announce the scholarship winners for the Fall 2021 term. These scholarships are available to women residents of Blair County 21 years of age and older who have overcome adversity or discrimination in their lives and are pursuing post-secondary education. A total of $10,000.00 was awarded to the following three women:  

Kierstin Hogan is a student at Mount Aloysius College and is enrolled in the Physical Therapy Assistant program.

Annette McGahan is a student at Penn Highlands enrolled in the Medical Billing and Coding Program.


Alicia Williams is a student at Penn State Altoona enrolled in the Human Development and Family Studies program with a minor in Criminal Justice and Child Maltreatment program.  

The scholarships are awarded through the Central Pennsylvania Community Foundation.

These scholarships are available to women residents of Blair County 21 years of age and older who have overcome adversity or discrimination in their lives and are pursuing post-secondary education.  A total of $10,000.00 was awarded to the following three women:  

Jean Jones, who is a student in the Bachelor of Science degree program Nursing with Chamberlain University.

Grace Andre, who is a student at West Virginia Junior College in the Clinical Medical Assistant program.

Vanessa Ponder, who is a student at Juniata College in the Bachelor degree program for Education. 

The scholarships are awarded through the Central Pennsylvania Community Foundation.

A total of $10,000.00 was awarded to the following two women:

12th Annual Annual Membership meeting

WISE Women of Blair County
12th Annual Membership Meeting

The WISE Women of Blair County Board of Directors wishes to extend a special invitation to Founders and Members to attend the 12th Annual Membership meeting of the organization. 
 
The meeting will include reports on the financial status and general activities of the organization and will conclude with the election of 2020-2021 Board of Directors.  Come and meet our board members.

*Tammy Knode, Penn State University-Altoona in the Bachelor degree program for Mathematics/Systems Analysis

*Vanessa Ponder, Juniata College in the Bachelor degree program for  Education

*Lisa Fellabaum, Mount Aloysius College in the Bachelor degree program for  Psychology

​*Julie Ralston, Penn State University-Altoona in the Bachelor degree program for Finance 

*Toni Tremmel,  Saint Francis University  in the Associates degree program for  Specialized Business

*Casey Mabry, Pennsylvania Highlands Community College in the Associates degree program for Pre-Health
